Andrea Alexander is a Senior Product Development Chemist at Dow Corning. With a little over 5 years completed at Dow Corning, Andrea has worked on several commercial products, synthesizes new intermediates to be used in sealants & adhesives, participates in reformulation efforts to improve performance and comply with ever changing regulatory requirements, and has one patent pending for a new sealant product offering. In addition to scientific contributions, she also enjoys outreach opportunities to inspire kids and young adults to pursue STEM careers and/or just to expose the community to the joys of chemistry in general. Ms. Alexander has engaged in science outreach efforts on behalf of Dow Corning Corporation since 2007.
Ms. Alexander is a member of the American Chemical Society, Chemical Technology Board at Delta College and the America Guild of Organists. She also serves as Vice President of the Midland Professional Chapter of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) and Secretary of the Saginaw Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She previously served as Public Relations Chair of the Midland Chapter of the American Chemical Society. Ms. Alexander is an alumna of Delta College (Associate in Applied Science) and Michigan State University graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry.
