Angela Shrestha is a fourth year medical student at Michigan State University. Ms. Shrestha is passionate about working with under-served populations, particularly as it relates to addressing the massive stigmatization of mental illness and mental health awareness.
As an undergraduate she spent a significant amount of time working with various community based crisis intervention services. During her time in East Lansing she served as Vice President of the Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention group where they focused on medical advocacy and victims rights awareness. As a volunteer with Listening Ear Crisis Center in Lansing, Ms. Shrestha trained other center volunteers in active listening and empathy; techniques to be used in speaking to clients in crisis.
Ms. Shrestha has plans to focus her medical work in the field of Psychiatry. She received her Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University.
