Lipstick Libations 2014

Our Lipstick Libations events highlight the work of incredible nonprofit organizations impacting the outcomes of girls through the work they are doing in their respective communities.  This year, we have selected three locations for these events and three local organizations who will benefit from the proceeds of the event in their respective locations.  Our Lipstick Libations events are as followed:

The Firecracker Foundation is a nonprofit organization working to honor the bravery of children who have survived sexual trauma by building a community invested in the healing of their whole being.  Therapists qualified to treat pediatric sexual trauma survivors are contracted to provide services out of their current practice locations for children ages 18. Yoga classes for teen survivors between the ages of 13 and 17 years of age are taught by instructors trained to provide trauma sensitive yoga therapy.  Therapeutic services are provided at no cost to children whose families are unable to afford care elsewhere .

Organization Benefiting: Well House

Register for this event at Spincard Social or on Facebook.

Well House provides safe, affordable housing to the homeless. We recognize that each individual has their own unique needs and challenges, and that a “one size fits all” approach is often a barrier to housing.  Well House includes people at whatever point they are in their lives, focusing on their strengths and abilities to improve their circumstances. Residents can stay one month or many years depending on their individual situation and needs.

Well House emphasizes living gently on the earth and with each other, practicing recycling, energy conservation, farming, gardening, gathering, and preserving food. In addition to safe, affordable housing, Well House’s Urban Farm provides opportunities for residents to earn an income and learn skills necessary for entering in the workforce.
